Lawsuit for money owed

How do I sue someone who owes me money w/o a lawyer. It would cost 2 much. I live in VA. I have a check from her 4 $1200.00 that's over a year old and receipt 4 $400.00 for a storge unit.

While I am not clear on what you are owed or why, generally speaking one would file a warrant in debt in General District Court. The court clerk's office will help you with this. Good luck.
