Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

We loaned a friend $7500 in cash to help buy a car but did not have formal loan agreement. Now he is ignoring our calls and refusing to pay back the loan. What are my options?

You could sue him in small claims court on your own without a lawyer for up to $5K.
