Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia
I just looked at my credit report and it said that i have two things in collections that were just put there by a place that I bought my cell phones from 2 years ago. I called them and they said that they have repeatedly tryed to contact me by mail and the phone number that was disconnected when I got the contract through them and the same contract they looked at has my new phone numbers on it. The store is just where you can buy the phones and get service set up through multiple providers. they said that because i changed my services 3 months after getting them that they lost money and i owed them 100 dollars for each line that i changed making me owe 200 dollars. I have no problem paying what I owe, but i want those things off my credit. I didn't know anything about me owing anything until it popped up on my credit as collections. my question is would i be able to take this through court or get it off my credit report. Like i said i have no problem paying what i owe. Thank you.

So, if you owe the $200 to the phone vendor, pay them and then submit your written version of the facts to each of the three major credit reporting agencies(up to 250 words) with a note that the alleged deliquencies have now been taken care of.
