Medical bill lawsuit

I am being sued by a medical facility for services they performed. I have an PPO insurance policy through my work. My primary care physician gave a refferal to this other medical facility for an evaulation with the notation that any further visits would require the other facility to contact the insurance company for another referral. The medialc facility did not get the required referrals but did provide additional services. the medial facilify then billed the wrong insurance company. Thye are now sueing for the services even though we have told them that they billed the wrong insurnace company. Should we just pay them or fight the law suit?
