Medical Bills

Is a husband responsible for wife medical bills that are in collection. They are listed on her credit report as individual but still show up on his credit report. Should he try to have these removed?

More relevant facts would appear necessary to answer this question such as the circumstances under which the medical treatments were received by the wife(cosmeti or breast cancer surgery?, whether the couple was still together or separated, etc.

Generally, in the Commonwealth, spouses are considered legally responsible for each other's so-called "necessaries of life"---and the bills derived therefrom.
