Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia
Midland credit
ok I just got married and come to find out my husband has some not so perfect stuff on his credit. Long story short...his now ex wife took out a credit card with FCNB and ran up a balance under his name. He never paid it because it was her stuff and they had seperated. Well that compnay went bankrupt; sent this account to Midland Credit Management. Well Midland put a judgement on him for this amount. Well when we call Midland they no longer have this acct. and the company that is supposed to have it does not. HOW DO WE GET THIS OFF HIS CREDIT REPORT? and the judgement totally erased off his record? Thanks!!!

Re: Midland credit
Most likely, by paying the judgment and then allowing for a suitable period of time to pass whereafter this adverse item should gradually subside from being actively maintained on your husband's credit report. (In the meantime your husband could submit a
narrative of up to 250 words to each of the three major credit reporting agencies recounting his version of what led to this crack in his credit worthiness.)
