Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

money loan

My wife loan a person that owns a

restaurant, $2000 from a loan. The

restaurant owner claims she

doesn't have the money to pay my

wife back. My wife did get a

promise to pay note (IOU). What

can we do to get the money back

or insure we get the money back?

Again my wife took out a loan to

give the restaurant owner the

money. Thanks

Your wife should sue the restaurant owner in small claims court for the $2000 which she is allegedly owed.
