Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Mortgage Co. Harassment

Our mortgage is due on the 1st day of each mo. and a late charge is posted after the 17th if payment has not been re-

ceived. The mortgage has just been sold to a new company and have just made the second p'ment. My payment was mailed

10/6/03. On 10/7/03 and 10/8/03 the new mortgage co. has called to say that they have not received p'ment yet. Do they have the right to keep harassing me because they have not rec. a p'ment, even though it is not past due?
