Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Moving/changing address after filing homestead deed

If I have filed a homestead deed for personal property in the county or city in which I currently reside, but I will be moving to another county or city, do I re-file the deed in the county or city to which I move? Do I have it transferred? Or do I just notify the court that I've moved?

Re: Moving/changing address after filing homestead deed

You would be well advised to file a new deed in the new jurisdiction where you intend to take up residence.
