Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Payday loans

I want to know if i can get arrested for not paying a payday loan, I spoke with a reresentative at ACE and I told her I wanted to pay in installments and she said that she was going to send the check through the state database, how can I reconcile these debts and not have a record or go to jail?

Re: Payday loans

Possible but not likely. If a debt collector told you that, you may have a claim against them under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Good luck.
