Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Paying an old Civil Judgement

a civil judgement (consumer debt)on one credit report from 2005 lists a plaintiff that cannot be found. we called the local court where it was filed and they told us to pay it through the plaintiff. they did not have a tel number for the attorney listed or plaintiff company name that we could contact to pay it.

Could you suggest to us the best way to legally and safely pay this $2,300 civil judgement through either the court directly or another safe means without hiring an attorney?

Assuming that the attorney listed in the court record was a member of the Virginia State Bar, you may be able to obtain his or her current contact information from that organization. Website = www.vsb.org
