Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

pre-dating applications

i am a student at james madison university and part of the ultimate frisbee team, in order to raise money for the team we are signing people up to recieves discover credit cards, the representative from campusfundraising.com told us to predate all of the applications for one week later than the day we did the fundraisers, since the signature is a release of credit record, employment and income reference, its seems that the date should be the date that the applicant signs the application and should be written by the applicant, does predating the application for a date other than when the application was signed violate the law?
