Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Recieved a Civil Claim fo Money..

Dear Sir or Madame.

Recently I received a Warrant in Debt. Upon Research.. the account in Question was Charged off.. Then Sold to a Credit company.. Which sold it to another credit company. On the Warrant. Under Plaintiff.. It has to second credit company as an ''assignee of XXXX Company''. But XXXX Company didn't sell it to second company.. only the first.. Doesn't' this make the ONLY the first company and ''assignee'' of XXXX Company since XXXX Company was the one that sold it to first one and NOT the second?

In order to be a legitimate assignee of a particular person or entity, one doesn't necessarily have to purchase that status for monetary value; it could be validly assigned for other good and valuable consideration and medium of exchange other than dollars paid.

And, furthermore, how would a person such as yourself even be in a position to know for sure?
