Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Repo Ripoff

My car has been repossessed, I have already paid the bank. I think I am being overpriced for an ''unexplainable'' ''repo fee!''

Re: Repo Ripoff

You need to check your original loan agreement and see what you AGREED to by way of "collection costs" or attorneys fees. That language is wher eyou should look. If that language includes your agreement to pay such costs, then it would be valid. If you did not agree in the loan document to pay for that, then they are not permitted to add it to your account.

As to whether it is too high, who knows? You would probably have to call around and see what the fees are for various repossession companies.
