Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Responsibility of debt

I signed as a co-maker on a $500.00 purchase that my daughter made to an electronic store for a piece of equipment, after a few payments the store let her purchase aditional equipment without my knowledge in an amount that far exceeded the original agreement that I signed for. Am I still a legally obligated? If so, to what extent???

Re: Responsibility of debt

What does the document say that you signed as a co-maker. Unless it contains specific terms that allow for these additional purchases under the circumstances that you have described, you are

not reponsible for paying for them.
