Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

I run a small S-corp in Virginia that releases white doves at events. A funeral home in Washington DC contacted us last September and we did a dove release for them. When the dove release was done, the funeral home ran off. Since then, they have promised to pay on several phone conversations and now they don't return our calls. The amount owed is only $275 but if I sue this blackguard, can I collect extra expenses, penalties, etc since I am having to sue him to get my money? Should I just forget about this or should I sue?

Sure, sue these SOB in DC Superior Court for small claims, claiming, of course, your right to claim

the cost of filing your claim along with the cost of having service of process properly effected upon him by US Marshals and your damages of $275.00. (The foregoing further assumes, of course,

that you have a verified address for this "blackguard" where he can be properly served

with copies of your lawsuit.)
