Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Settling a debt before interrogatories

I just settled a judgement for an credit card account with the attorney's. I set up a payment schedule that will work best for me. I am resopnsible for the debt, so I wanted to settle it without going forward to court for interrogatories. I gave them my bank account information and they are going to withdraw the money from my account on a monthly basis. Should I have done this? I am just hoping that they do not put a freeze on my account.

Re: Settling a debt before interrogatories

It should be hoped that you got the settlement agreement in writing with a stipulation strictly limiting the withdrawals to the amount agreed upon and not to exceed once per month, and to cease immediately once the total amount of the debt has been paid.

If not, then you had better keep hoping.
