are signed agreements to pay for a service legally binding in the state of virginia? i run a doctor's office and we had a patient last year sign an agreement to pay for an agreed upon charge IRREGARDLESS of his health insurance payments outcome, because 1. we knew it would not be paid by the health insurance and 2. it is primarily considered cosmetic. the patient agreed, signed the agreement and is not contesting it. please help!

Yes, assuming the "signed agreement" is a valid contract under he laws of the Commonwealth, it should be legally binding and enforceable on the parties who knowingly and voluntarily affixed their signatures to it.
