Small Claims Court Question

Someone owes me 1500 from around 2 years ago. This person gave me a 1500 check at the time but I never cashed it. I still have the check but its no longer valid. Am I still entitled to the 1500 from this person?

Yes, if the agreement has not exceeded three years from the time it was orally agreed to nor more than five years if it was put in writing.
