Re: statue limitations on collection agency

The statute of limitations (SOL) on a written contract in the Commonwealth is five years from the date of the breach(when payment was due and not made) or when services were last provided. You very likely should contact this collection agency to determine why in fact this happening.

(If you've already worked out a payment

plan with this collection agency and have breached it, the five year SOL applies from the date of that breach of that agreement and not five years from the date of your breach of your contract with the original creditor.)
