How often does a judgment on a defaulted student loan (U S department of education) have to be renewed to stay valid? Also if the the defaulted student loan judgment was never renewed, what can I do?

Re: statue of limitations

It depends on the court where the judgment was rendered. If in VA, it's valid for 20 years, unless it's a General District Court judgment, in which case it's only 10 years.
