Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Being sued by credit card company

Court date is in a few weeks and I have already answered the summons and intend on appearing to avoid a default judgment. I offered to the credit card company's law firm a settlement to pay off the debt in installments of $100/mo. The debt is under $3000 & that amount is all I can afford. I have not gotten any response back about my offer; they did send me copies of old credit card statements however. I don't want my wages garnished, especially when I'm offering to settle. What should I do...just wait for the day in court?

Yes, on the day of trial, see the company's attorney before your case is called and see if you can get a settlement of the matter that is mutually agreeable---and IN WRITING(even if only scrawled on a piece of notebook paper but properly endorsed by the parties or their representatives (most likely you and the attorney).
