Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Suffered a heart attack last year, struggling to pay off medical bills. Received a Warrant in Debt to appear in court for unpaid bill to cardiologist. What happens if I pay the balance in full directly to the cardiologist, rather than the lawyer, before the scheduled hearing?

You should pay the lawyer or whoever the authorized collection agent may be

before the court date.(If the cardiologist wants to modify his claim agent you, he should do it through his authorized agent.)
