Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

timeline and number of collections

I was garnished 6/2005 for a vehicle that I turned back in during the year of 9/2000 because it wasn't reliable. They received well over the amount that was owed on the vehicle because of the interest that occurred over the five year period of nonpayment.I went to court to let my case be heard, but instead the defense attorney didn't show so I was told to contact the attorney and work something out.I have received another summons to court concerning the same vehicle with more interest and attorney fees attached and was that legal and what can I do to remedy this situation.I have paid 3 times what the vehicle was worth and I have nothing to show for it.Help me if you can,

Thank you,

Daniel

Re: timeline and number of collections

You should appear for your scheduled court hearing in this matter, explain to the judge

what you've covered here in your question, and then ask that the court dismiss it with prejudice(so that it cannot be brought again).
