Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

I am a trustee at a church where my name is listed as an owner of the property. There is a dispute with a plumber contractor. The plumber has placed a mechanic's lein on the church. Should I be concerned for my personal credit rating, applying for contractor's licenses or any kind of background checks that would adversly affect me personally?
