Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia
Who is ultimately responsible to pay.
I was separated-my ex-wife was involved in an embezzlement and was charged. She signed a note for an attorney for $3200.00. I co-signed the note. She never paid this, I was sued for the amt. I paid it in full. Do I have legal recourse to collect this amount from her? Can I take her through small claims court and get a judgement for this amount from her? I have a copy of the original contract that she signed and copies of where I paid this in full.

If you were then still married, pre-property settlement agreement, you probably cannot recover from her. If you were already divorced, you should be able to.
