Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Unpaid Auto Loan

My friend has not paid on his automobile loan for nearly two years. He took out the loan in Virginia and then moved to Florida and now Ohio making it impossible for the repo men to find him. The car company called him telling them that he had to surrender it to them and he lied and said that a mechanic had worked on it and put a lien on it because he could not pay for it, he said it was totaled. This was a lie and he is still driving it. What will happen to him if he gets caught?
