Chances are that this is just the copy the plaintiff is required to mail, and that it was filed and you will receive the official one from the sheriff. You can check online to see if it has been filed. To to http://courts.state.va.us, click on online services, case status, general district court. Go through the terms and conditions page and then select the court (county) and search by your name.
