Wrongly assoicated with

Can you be arrested for check bouncing that was written in april of this year but not hit till 5 months latter? I was threatened by a company that alledged another company i wrote a check for but know for a fact its a different name?

The fact that the check "hit 5 months later" is of little importance and if the complaining company is a successor in interest to the company(to which you wrote the check) which you claim had a different name, that also

would appear to be of little relevance if in fact the former had taken over the latter or acquired some form of ownership interest in it and thereby became entitled to its assets and accounts receivables(including whatever debt you owed).

While I don't fully understand the question, I can generally say that people don't usually get arrested for writing one bounced check.
