Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
accused of been a felon but im not
i was arrested for been a felon and guns in my home that belongs to my son.and bailed out went to court.i was not a felon.if the detective would have checked he would have seen that,he went on a person's word.is there some way to get my money back? or is there anything i can do?

Yes, whatever property that was seized from you in connection with this apparently mistaken arrest should be returned to you forthwith. And to ensure that such happens, you should first contact the property office or detail of the local law enforecement agency which arrested you and that keeps and accounts for prisoner property and ask for the return of your property.
If there is any problem with their releasing the property, then contact the local prosecutor's office(Commonwealth's Attorney) to assist you with the matter.
