Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
When someone admits to a crime, say murder, and confesses that he did it, and is sentenced to death, why does it take so long to get to the exicution. It seems that states spend a lot of money keeping convicted and guilty persons housed and fed awaiting a certain exicution.

Ever hear of what we call Due Process under the U.S Constitution? (Even
those who are convicted of Capital Murder are still entitled to it and even though it may delay---sometimes for years-- the execution of the prisoner's sentence.)
