Affidavits for arrest warrants
When a policeman goes to a magistrate in Virginia, is the magistrate required to have a written copy of the police officer's sworn testimony to issue an arrest warrant?

One would expect that such a copy would be retained
in the magistrate's records of the particular matter involved although I do not know whether it's an absolute requirement for the issuance of an arrest warrant.
