Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
amendent 4
Through my research I have been informed that as of Nov. 1st, 2002 a law has been pass call amendment 4, in conspiracy minimal drug involvment. I was charged and I received a level 34. If this is true my sentence would be drop by 7 or 9 yrs. I have already served 5 yrs and I am still incarcerated. Please advise.

Re: amendent 4
I assume you're referring to a possible change in federal criminal law relating to the possession and/or distribution of illegal drugs.
If this is true, any change would not affect those defendants like yourself who have already
been sentenced and are serving their time. The law that was in effect at the time your sentence
was handed down is the one that counts unless there is a specific provision in a later law that provides otherwise.
