Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Apealing a criminal charge
My fiancee is currently incarserated in SHCC and we are looking into all his charges. He was hit with possesion with the intent to sale. My question is the drugs were found in the room where he and many other people were. They were no where near him and the hotel room was not in his name. He was charged with it along with many other chrages. He had a publid defender and we now want to fight this charge because the drugs were not his. How do we go about it? Does it look like he has a chance? Where can I find an atterny for him to help us?

Re: Apealing a criminal charge
If your fiancee has already been convicted after trial(or pled guilty) and sentenced on these charges and has not availed himself of his right to appeal the verdict within the required time frame(if he went to trial and did not plead guilty), it is now very likely too late for him to do anything at all with respect to these charges.
