Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
I had an argument with one of my three roommates on a drunken night and threw her camera off of our third story balcony while she was at a party. When I went to go pick the pieces up, they were no longer there. The next morning she asked us where her camera was and I text her and told her i threw it off the balcony. She now wants me to pay for the camera. My question is, do I have to pay her? What legal actions could she take against me since she doesn't have any evidence?

Of course, you have to pay her for the at least the fair market value
of her camera (if not the replacement value) under the circumstances described.
And, if you refuse, you may find yourself with a summons to
appear as a defendant in court. (Furthermore, she has ample evidence,
including your texted admission that you "threw it off the balcony".)
