Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Assault
I have an Assault on a family
member case that i'm waiting to go
to court for. I turned myself in to the
police and had to sign papers stating
that i cannot have any contact with
the person whom i've assaulted.
That person being the mother of my
child. But i keep getting phone calls
and messages from her. She has my
child, so am I just supposed to ignore
her calls or am i allowed to answer
since she contacted me ?

Re: Assault
No, if you answer any of these calls, you could be charged with violating the protection order.
