Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Asset Seizure
I have a business and my asset was seized because I put less than 10,000 of money in the bank. The drug enforcement taskforce seized the asset. Since they could not find any drugs involved, they are now saying they are looking to see if I had any IRS laws broken.. Can they do this and can they forfiet my asset if no drugs were involved?

Re: Asset Seizure
The proposed forfeiture of your asset by the "Feds" may be contestable under federal law. You should consult with a federal criminal defense practitioner who should be able to further advise you on this issue.
