Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Assualt and Battery

I was hurt by my friends boyfriend and I made a verbal agreement with them that I would not file a police report as long as they pay all my medical bills. I forwarded them my bills and they told me everything would be taken care of. The hospitals still have not received payment, its 30-60 days overdue. I've been leaving them messages, which they never return, and they have moved. I now want to file the report, but no one knows his last name. Could I ask the rental office of where they used to live for that information? Will they disclose it with me? How can I get that information? If I get a lawyer are they able to get that information? any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Of course, you can ask the rental office or anyone else for that information. Whether they will disclose it to you, however, will likely depend upon whom you ask and possibly your reason(s) for asking.

The average lawyer is probably no better equipped than you to obtain the information. A PI, however, could probably come up with not only the name but also just as important, their new address which you will also need in order to file a police report against them.
