Attempted Rape Confessed; how long wll his sentence be?

I have a girlfriend, who had someone attempt to rape her and failed. This was at her new home while trying to get help moving. The guy failed and was beat up by her roomates. He later came back, cops came, and he confessed to attempted rape. How long will he go to prison with or without a mental condition? and her lawyer asked her how much she wanted for compensation ($) She didn't want any; but never knew that it's possible. How much money can a person get from this kind of trama?

I have no answers to any of your questions other than to say that if the perpetrator is locked away

in the state penitentiary, your girlfriend should not be looking for civil damages from this attack to front the down payment on her house or other major purchase any time soon.
