Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

If you have bi-polar and were perscribed high doses of pain medications for other physical conditions that can and will affect your mental state for a person without a mental disability why is that in VA not comsidered a factor in bad check writing.

It might be one of many factors which a judge might

consider in sentencing such a person but it will not

provide a defense against conviction for this particular offense.
