Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
My brother and wife live with their three children and they miss communication on where the kids should have their Dina. In the course of discussion one of the children was saying �am sorry I didn�t� and the wife said stop lying, slapped the child on the face. The husband thought the wife was going to repeat with the other hand so he got out of his chair to block the hand and he lost his balance and his hand landed on the wife�s chin. The wife is now charging the husband for abuse.
They have married for seven years and this the first time the husband has gone that far, calm and gentle. However, the wife is reported to have hitting the children for slightest mistake and the husband had disagreed and opposed that act.
Please advice how the law come to ply.

If the husband has been charged with a crime, he should have a lawyer
representing him who could advise him as to "how the law may
come into play" under the facts of his particular case.
