Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Burglary

Ok, if my friend who does not have a computer is accused of a burglary and claims he did not do it, what laws or

law would have an effect on his freedom other then police pressure and questioning? Of course he said he was at home when the so called burglary happened but can not confirm it. Since he did not commit the crime therefore no evidence was left behing. What can the law do? Basicly no alibi...
