Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Got caught at Walmart for stealing 47$ worth of baby clothing. Can you give me a general idea of what to expect out of court. Is jail time likely? Its mh first offense and i have a clean record besides this now. How do I plea on my first court date. The incident occurred in Yorktown Va. The items were returned with complete cooperation and I was released on a summons <200$ is what it said. I have never been in any trouble in my life 21 years old it was a stupid mistake made in a moment of absent mindness is there a way I can get just a fine and community service I am a military spouse about to PCs to another state in January and need the situation resolved as quickly and smoothly as possible

As I've already answered, you need to get a criminal defense attorney

to represent you in this misdemeanor matter, and if you cannot afford

to hire one on your own. then ask the court to appoint an attorney for you.
