Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
changing of a charge
i was initially charged with one offense but sometime during the trial process the charged was changed without me knowing it. I ended up being found guilty of a more serious offense. when I questioned the new charge I was told by my attorney that the two charges are the same but they definitely are not the same and the consequences have been more severe. do i have any recourse to get this corrected.

Until it is clear what charges you're referring to, I don't see how a credible opinion could be offered on this particular matter.
