charged twice for same crime
a 17 yr. old boy hit his girlfriend. He is being charged as a juvenille for assault and battery and also as an adult for malicious wounding can that be done.

I've never heard of this kind of charging arrangement but the 17 year old boy should definitely have a competent defense counsel to represent him in this matter and to make the most of any mistakes that the Commonwealth may have made in bringing charges in this case.
If the boy and his parents cannot afford to hire an attorney to represent him in this matter, they should request that the court appoint one for him.
