Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

I was charged with " domestic violence against a family member" and am not guilty. I want to be the best father I can be but my girlfriend wants me to not be a part of my baby's life. She says she won't put me on the birth certificate and has already named our child without any of my input, and is going to give him her last name and it's a boy!

So, hire an attorney to defend against this charge and, then, perhaps,

depending upon the outcome of your criminal case, consider petitioning

the court to have a paternity test ordered, and, if you're found

to be the father, the birth certificate amended and your visitation rights established along with your obligation to pay child support.
