Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

I was charged falsely by a former landlord for destruction of property which caused me to loose my job. The case was dismissed. Can I sue for damages for being charged falsely and loss of income. . I had proof to prove otherwise.

You would most likely be suing this former landlord civilly on a theory

of malicious prosecution. However, merely because the case was dismissed would not be to be enough in and of itself to prove your claim(s), and, without knowing what your other alleged proof might be, it would therefore be difficult to judge your prospects for success in such a suit.
