Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
charged in north carolina and south carolina
while awaiting trial in north carolina for a felony i was arrested for possession of less than 1/2 ounce of marijuana in virginia. When virginia sent me the summons to appear in court, i was incarcerated already in north carolina. I missed the court date. At the present time north carolina still hasn't taken me to trial. Do i just wait until nc is finish with me and then turn myself over to virginia authorities

You might want to send a letter to the clerk's office of the Virginia court(criminal division)where your charge was pending and explain the circumstances which caused you to miss their scheduled hearing on the
marijuana charge, and see what they want to recommend, if anything. (You should attach to the letter, if possible, proof of your incarceration in N. Carolina at the time that the hearing in Virginia had been scheduled).
