Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

charges

i was arrested for supposedly attempting to steal a car but the only evidence is the owner pointed out a picture of me and said it was the same guy he saw across a parking lot at in the morning. i was at home in bed with my wife at the time but the detective said it wasnt a good enought alibi. is that enough evidence to convict me for i crime i did not comit?

Sorry to be late in answering this.

There are two questions here...

COULD you be convicted on such flimsy evidence? Yes, including if you do not have good legal help or mess it up trying to do it yourself in correctly.

SHOULD you be convicted, not.

Particularly when you say you were chraged with ATTEMPTING to steal a car. That is hard to say what that means.

What County are these charges in?
