Check Alteration
A store's employee changed the amount (number amount only)of my personal check. Do I have a legal case?

I assume from your question that the amount written out on your check was for the correct amount and remained untouched by the handiwork of this employee and that this amount was correctly debited from your checking account and that you were not overcharged for the item or service which you purchased.
If all the foregoing is true, the answer is no, you don't "have a legal case."
